Music Team

Each Sunday, musicians and singers help the congregation to glorify God in song. We have a pianist, a trumpet player, guitarists, a violinist, and vocalists. We’re always looking for additional volunteers to lend their God-given talents to the team. If you are interested, talk to Dwight Fowler or Sue Blanton.

Choir

East Gate’s choir is made up of people who love the Lord and who love to sing to the Lord. We sing twice monthly on Sunday mornings (taking a break in the summer months) and lead the congregation Godward at Easter and Christmas through the presentation of seasonal cantatas. We typically practice on Monday evenings at 6:00 p.m. at the church. If you would like to learn more about joining the choir, see our choir director, Carol Evans.

Kids’ Club

East Gate Kids’ Club worked hard this past summer to learn and perform the story of Daniel in September. The Kids’ Club is currently in planning stages, as it prayerfully looks to the future and how we might continue to serve the Lord and the children He has given us.

We gather at 8AM and then head over to the church for Bible Study.

Men’s Bible Study

We meet at East Gate in the Fellowship Hall on Tuesdays from 9am until a little after 10am.

During our time together, we strive for faithful study of God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship. We are currently studying the book of Hebrews.

Please come and join us. No advanced preparation is required. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].

a Great Way to grow

Small groups have an important place in the life of East Gate. These groups afford an additional, intimate time of fellowship and study. You are welcome to join us and grow with us as we seek God through Jesus His Son in our small groups. We currently offer 5 small groups meeting in various locations at various times:

On Sunday at 2:30 (Millsboro), one small group is examining Daniel’s prophecies.

On Sunday at 4:00 in Georgetown, one group is examining Christology through the lens of creeds and heresies.

Our Tuesday small group meets virtually at 7:00pm and presses into the previous Sunday’s sermon and sermon passage;

On Thursday afternoons at 3:00 in Millsboro, one group is digging into Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

And every other Thursday evening in Milton, a small group is studying the book of Hebrews.

MINISTRY To Women, by women, for women

W2W exists to build relationships, build-up the body, and be present to those in need. We do this through our WOW group (Women of the Word), our Fellowship Group, and our Meal-Train Group.

Women of the Word

Women of the Word endeavors to equip women to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). We accomplish this through diligent study of the things of God.

Sometimes, we study a particular book of the Bible. At other times, we dive into a biblical topic. Currently, we are engaged a study called, “What Did Jesus Do? Understanding the Work of Christ,” a teaching series from Ligonier Ministries.

But no matter what we desire to be built up by God’s Word and Spirit, as well as by one another. We hope you’ll come and grow with us!

Ladies’ Fellowship Group

An essential part of growing together is being together. W2W endeavors to provide a variety of opportunities for the ladies of East Gate to do just that. As we get to know one another, we learn how to love and pray for each other.

Sometimes, we may gather in someone’s home for an afternoon tea, or meet at a local restaurant for lunch. At other times, we gather to have fun together while decorating or making crafts.

No matter where we are, we’re trying to build community so that we might” encourage one another and build one another up” (1 These. 5:11).

Meal-Train

Whether through accident, illness, or aging, many of us will find ourselves in need of various helps. Often, one of those areas is in the provision of meals.

Whether you’ve just had a baby or have just come out of the hospital, cooking is the last thing you want to be doing. And that’s ok. We can help!

We have a “train” of people ready and willing to provide you with a meal – or two!

We love our neighbors. And we desire to reach out to them in practical ways and point them to Christ.

Our Outreach Committee helps us focus our efforts and provides ways for our people to use their gifts to the glory of God and the good of His world.

If you have a heart for outreach, a head for creativity, and a pair of hands for participation, this might be the committee for you!

Supporting one another and the body of Christ

The “Son”shine Girls desire to shine the light of Christ to those around them. They gather monthly to offer encouragement to our widows and single women. They pray together, play together, and point one another to the Son Who is our only comfort in life and in death.

They also support other ministries of the church, such as Kids’ Club and Youth, sharing and showing the love of Christ in all they do.

They gather on the 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Fellowship Hall here at East Gate.
